Former UVM standout Anthony Lamb signs contract with Detroit Pistons
Former University of Vermont basketball standout Anthony Lamb is making a move to the Midwest. The two-time America East Player of the Year has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Detroit Pistons, the UVM athletic department confirmed Monday. The contract is a non-guaranteed, one-year deal that would allow Lamb to make a bonus of up to $50,000 if he is waived and remains on the franchise’s G League roster for at least 60 days. Lamb will report to the Pistons’ NBA training camp on Dec. 1, three weeks ahead of the scheduled start of the new season. If Lamb makes the roster and takes the court for Detroit during a regular season game, it would mark a historic first — no Catamounts alumnus has ever played regular season minutes in the NBA. During his four-year tenure with the Catamounts, Lamb was a three-time U.S. Basketball Writers Association All-District I Team selection and earned Player of the Year honors in 2019. He also helped the team win a conference title in 2017, 2019 and 2020. Tune in to NBC5 News for more information.
