A brisk wind is wrapping around a storm system that remains right overhead of us. It’s cooling temperatures off and making them feel even worse with the wind on Wednesday morning. Temperatures are in the 30s but wind chills are in the 20s. There will be a few scattered light rain and snow showers too, which will linger through the afternoon. The mountains could see some accumulating snow by the end of the day. Temperatures will struggle to get to 40 for the afternoon in the Champlain Valley and the wind will be sustained near 15 mph.Clouds break up more overnight and we should get a little sunshine on Thursday and drier conditions. Near 30 in the morning and into the mid 40s for the afternoon and a slight breeze left over. Friday will be similar but with more clouds and a few spot showers, especially in the evening. An incoming coastal system will bring an unsettled weekend of weather. It will lift north on Saturday bringing some mix on the leading edge and rain to the south. Rain lifts north and will fall heavily at times overnight and into Sunday morning. The system will start to exit on Sunday and will pull in some cooler air behind it brining a transition back to a mix and snow on Sunday as showers taper off.So far there is a lot of uncertainly with the exact position of this system so precipitation type and amounts are still to be determined. But know it will be a wet an dpossibly messy weekend. Behind that system temperatures will fall and only top off in the low 30s for the start of next week.Follow the weather team on Facebook: Tom Messner | Caitlin Napoleoni | Tyler Jankoski | Ben Frechette
