Vibrant Church, on Williston Road, is holding a drive-thru holiday party for kids. It features characters from different shows, music, and countless holiday lights. It finishes off with a jolly greeting from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and a Christmas present from them. The event is drawing families from all around, like the Larocques, from Brandon. “To get into the holiday spirit we took the ride and they seemed to have a great time,” said Stephanie Larocque. Vibrant Church has hosted a holiday party for kids before, in partnership with the Pomerleau family, but this is the first time it’s outside. Everyone is masked and adhering to social distancing guidelines. The pastor said that with all the hardships from COVID-19, it’s wonderful to hold an event like this. He said happiness was evident on peoples’ faces.”They’re so grateful. It’s almost like — people need a relief, you know? People need something that just lets go of everything that’s going on and just spreads a little bit of joy,” said Pastor Mike Kriesel. The event’s organizer is happy with the way it turned out, and grateful for all the help making it happen. “There’s so much love into everything that’s happened here. The volunteers that we have, the people that have helped us put up the lights and everything. It’s just been an amazing spirit of Christmas,” said organizer Robin Danaher. It’s an event families said they won’t soon forget. The even runs again Saturday evening from 5:00 to 7:30.
