It will be a cloudy and cold start to the week. Monday morning temperatures will dip into the mid 20s in the Champlain Valley with a cloudy sky. The wind will make the cold sting a bit with wind chills down in the teens for most. Wind will be around 10 mph and out of the northwest through the day. That cold wind will keep temperatures in the 20s for the afternoon, low 30s if you’re lucky. Plus it will stay cloudy most of the day too.Low and mid 20s for Tuesday morning and highs again tomorrow struggling to reach the 30 mark in the Champlain Valley. Plenty of clouds in the morning but there may be a little sun by the afternoon on Tuesday. Wind will still be out of the northwest but still relatively light.Wednesday brings a few snow shower s in the morning, which won’t be heavy or widespread but could make for a few slick spots on the morning drive. A few more through the afternoon with a little rain mixing in in the valleys as temperatures climb back above freezing and into the upper 30s as the wind shifts to coming out of the south.Closer to 40 on Thursday with a few spot showers but otherwise pretty quiet. Friday will be mild again but with a little more sunshine. So far the weekend looks pretty warm, highs in the mid 40s both days with rain and mixed showers returning by Saturday afternoon and lingering through Sunday. Back closer to average next week with highs in the 30s by then.Follow the weather team on Facebook: Tom Messner | Caitlin Napoleoni | Tyler Jankoski | Ben Frechette
