THEIR OWN LOCAL RULES ON BAR OPERATIONS. >> NOW, THIS IS A TEST FOR WPTZ. FIRST WORD IT — NBC5 FIRST WARNING WEATHER. TOM G.: I’M SURE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE DOTTING CHURCH STREET AND DOWNTOWN PLOTS. — PLATTSBURGH, SITTING OUTSIDE, ENJOYING NICE DRINK, TOO. TOM M.: I THINK THAT IS THE BIG DIFFERENCE BECAUSE YOU CAN BE OUTSIDE. IT IS HUGE TO HAVE YOUR COFFEE. TOM G.: I HOPE YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO ENJOY THE WRIT — COFFEE. I HOPE YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO ENJOY THE GREAT WEATHER. IT WILL BE SUNNY AND MILD THIS AFTERNOON. NOT QUITE AS WARM FOR TOMORROW AND WEDNESDAY. HE WILL COOL DOWN LATER THIS WEEK. JUST SO YOU KNOW, FRIDAY, LOOKS TO BE THE WETTEST DAY OF THE WEEK. LET’S SAY WE TAKE A LOOK OVER BURLINGTON. WHAT A GREAT SHOT IN LAKE CHAMPLAIN. WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT MUCH OF THE WAY OF CLOUDS. MOSTLY SUNNY, 61 IN THE CITY, A SOUTH, SOUTHWEST WIND AT 10 MILES PER HOUR. TEMPERATURES IN THE 50’S, IF NOT THE 60’S. GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE, TUPPER LAKE, 58. RIGHT NOW 63 IN CERDA. IN THE 50’S AND PLATTSBURGH BUT 60’S IN BURLINGTON. 60 IN STOWE AND 60 AS WELL. 59 RUTLAND, 60 IN BENNINGTON. YOU GET THE IDEA. LET’S TALK ABOUT THE TREND, WHERE WE GOING? A HIGH TODAY OF 68 AND WE DIP A LITTLE BIT TOMORROW. I MENTIONED IN THE HEADLINES, A LITTLE COOLER TOMORROW. IT IS ALL RELATIVE. WE WILL REBOUND NICELY. THURSDAY, WE TOP OUT AT 70 DEGREES, WHICH WILL BE SWEET. THEN WE FALL OFF A LITTLE BIT. WE GO INTO THE 50’S FRIDAY, BUT SATURDAY, 40’S. FROM THERE, IT WILL BE COOLER FOR A WHILE. WE HAVE A MAINLY CLEAR SKY, BUT WE HAVE CLOUDS BACK IN THE GREAT LAKES AND THEY ARE COMING OUR WAY. I THINK WE WILL HAVE CLOUDS ROLLING IN BY LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING TIME. IT WON’T THROUGH THE DAY OR ANYTHING, BUT THE SUN WILL HAVE SOME CLOUDS. THIS HIGH PRESSURE WILL BE TO THE WEST OF US, AND OF GOING TO THE NORTH, AND MAYBE DROPPING A COUPLE LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS OR SPECKLES AROUND HERE LATE TOMORROW AFTERNOON. ESPECIALLY INTO TOMORROW NIGHT. IT GOES LIKE THIS. AS WE THINK ABOUT TOMORROW, IT WILL BE CLOUDIER AROUND HERE, SO PREPARE FOR THAT, BUT FOR THE MOST PART, A DRY DAY. LET’S COME BACK TO TODAY, AND WE STEP UP TO TOMORROW. THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT, WE END UP WITH A BUNCH OF CLOUDS, AND MAYBE A RAIN DROP OR TWO AS WE GET INTO THE AFTERNOON TIME ON WEDNESDAY, ESPECIALLY IN NORTHERN NEW YORK AND INTO THE EVENING TIME. THURSDAY, ANY CLOUDS GIVING WAY TO SUNSHINE. THAT WILL BE THE DAY WE KNOCK ON THE DOOR OF 70 DEGREES. SO IT GOES LIKE THIS, SOME AFTERNOON CLOUDS MIXING IN WITH THE SUNSHINE. HIGHS, 50’S JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE, MAY BE A FEW EXCEPTIONS IN THE ADIRONDACKS. 68 IN BURLINGTON. TONIGHT, PARTLY CLOUDY, TEMPERATURES ABOVE FREEZING FOR MOST OF US. IN THE NORTHEAST KINGDOM, PRETTY CLOSE TO THE FREEZING MARK. YOUR FIVE-DAY FORECAST, 50 — 68 TO 62. MORNING CLOUDS, KIND OF BREEZY ON THURSDAY. UP TO 70 DEGREES AND IT WILL RAIN FRIDAY. THAT WILL BE A BREEZY DAY, MAYBE A MIX OF RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW ESPECIALLY. SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE SUNDAY, BUT A WINTRY MIX AND MAYBE SNOW LATER MONDAY. I THINK THE THING TO NOTICE IS TEMPERATURES, AFTER WE GET PAST THURSDAY, MOSTLY

The beat goes on — sunshine and mild temperatures continue through Tuesday with little wind expected! Highs in the 60s are expected again Tuesday afternoon. A few light rain showers are now possible with a mostly cloudy sky on Wednesday.Thursday looks dry, and the sun may reemerge from the clouds. As a result, the best chance for 70 degrees is on Thursday! The record high on Wednesday is 66 degrees, and for Thursday it is 68 degrees. Both are in jeopardy.A soaking rain is likely on Friday, but the delayed arrival of a cold front should ensure one more day of upper 50s and low 60s. Temperatures moderate closer to normal by next weekend, as the pattern takes on a cloudier and unsettled look. A few wet snowflakes are likely in the mountains.
