Wednesday is shaping up to be the warmest but busiest weather day of the week. Starting off very warm in the morning with temperatures already in the 60s and 70s as folks are headed out the door with a little breeze. The breeze will stick around all day out of the southwest. It will push in the warm, moist air making it hot and humid for the afternoon with highs in the mid 80s. There will be some sun on Wednesday but don’t let that fool you into thinking it will be a quiet day. Storms will start to develop by midday and will continue on and off through the afternoon and even into the evening.Storms will include heavy rain and lightning but could also have some damaging wind gusts. The hail and tornado threats are low but not zero either. It’s a day you’ll have to stay weather aware in case a storm rolls through your area.A cold front will pass overnight clearing out any leftover rain and clouds by Thursday morning. Lots of sun expected for tomorrow but it’s going to be a lot cooler! Highs will only be in the 60s with a northwest wind around 10 mph.Friday will barely get up to 60 in the Champlain Valley with a few clouds, especially to the south as a system over the Mid Atlantic grazes us. It could prompt some showers overnight in southern Vermont but they’ll clear out and we’ll get a dry Saturday with highs in the 60s. Sunday will have more clouds but will still be in the 60s and likely dry. Memorial Day will be back in the 70s with a mix of sun and clouds and right now only a slight chance that another system skims us, we’ll watch it as it gets closer.Follow the weather team on Facebook: Tom Messner | Caitlin Napoleoni | Tyler Jankoski | Ben Frechette
