Saturday is the driest day, showers on Sunday & early Monday
Now. NBC 5. 1st Warning Weather with meteorologist Tyler Jankowski cold night to be camping right. Yeah, I hope they’re bundled up that picture behind you, Tyler, that is a great sunset. It was a stunning sunset. You can see it from just about anywhere. Looking to the west. Drew brussel took this picture from Cambridge. We have another one too that we got and we’ll take a look at later on. But the flip side of this is the summit of strata. And this is the live cam from the top there just under 4000 ft with wind and wet snow falling. So I don’t think many of us actually see the snow down low, but tomorrow morning, once the clouds start to clear the summit might be a little white. The summits I should say plural in southern Vermont there’s actually a blue speck there, that’s right over Killington where I think it’s snowing at the top. So that’s what we’re dealing with here. Towards the end of May. Just a really chilly rain with the snow high up, the northern edge of the rain is through about central Vermont, it’s not into Burlington Plattsburgh and I don’t expect it to come any further north, so If it’s dry where you are now, it will be dry through the rest of the night into tomorrow actually because this clears out, so will wake up to clouds for most areas and then the sun will come out tomorrow. I think tomorrow is the nicest day of the next three, so that’s how it’s shaking out going forward. We have 39 at the base of white face and Lake Placid 38 in Newcomb. It feels more like late october out there, Burlington’s at 49. The water temperature has taken a big, big hit on lake champlain, it’s down to about 51 low forties in southern Vermont. So the headlines show the rain tonight. That’s round number one. Then the sunshine tomorrow round, number two is less less rainfall, but it’s in here later sunday and monday with another chance for at least some showers. So tomorrow morning at seven a.m. We’re saying goodbye to the rain for southern areas, the clouds also leaving the farther north you are, the more son you’ll see. So it turns out to be a very nice day in the champlain valley. A little slow to get rid of those clouds points to the south, but then on sunday the clouds thicken up for everyone. Now this is eight a.m. On sunday, but through the afternoon hours the rain showers come north. I think the best chance for a shower on sunday is in the afternoon and evening south and east of Lake champlain. So best chance of staying dry would be like Malone or Messina, something like that. And then for Memorial Day itself there’s still a shower chance mostly east of lake champlain, but it is a drier day and brighter again, brightest to the west as system number two pushes out over Maine. So that’s just how it’s working out. We are lucky we’re not getting four inches of rain because that’s the deal down towards boston and Cape Cod this weekend for us. The rain total map is much less. It could easily be over an inch Lebanon points south but notice barely even registering in the champlain valley. Whatever happens in the valley will be the shoppers later sunday and monday. I know I mentioned the lake temperature down to 51. So not great swimming weather as we go into this weekend temperatures in the upper sixties metre upper sixties on sunday near 70 for Memorial Day. But the real warm up waits until after We’re near 80 by Wednesday of next week and then some storms by the late part of the week. Mm hmm. Mhm. Right.
