It was a long-awaited homecoming Tuesday for Charlotte Kapilow-Cohen, a baby who spent the first year of her life in a hospital. Charlotte was born June 11, 2020, prematurely weighing 1.9 pounds. Since November, she has lived on a ventilator at Franciscan Children’s Hospital in Massachusetts.Her parents took turns on bedside shifts; Charlotte’s dad lost his job because he had to spend so much time next to his daughter.Six months later, Charlotte and her grateful parents went home.”We are the biggest advocates now of Franciscan, and we love that Charlotte can be a success story, because we are just so proud of her, ” mother Amy Kapilow-Cohen said.Charlotte’s homecoming comes at the perfect time: Her first birthday is Friday, and she’ll be able to celebrate with her family in their Norfolk, Massachusetts, home.

NORFOLK, Mass. —

“We are the biggest advocates now of Franciscan, and we love that Charlotte can be a success story, because we are just so proud of her, ” mother Amy Kapilow-Cohen said.

Charlotte’s homecoming comes at the perfect time: Her first birthday is Friday, and she’ll be able to celebrate with her family in their Norfolk, Massachusetts, home.
