ABOUT A MONTH AGO, A NEW NEIGHBOR MOVED INTO WENDY’S SAY LIMBS YARD AND PITTSBURGH SQUIRREL HOOD SOUTH NEIGHBORHOOD. >> SHE TRAVELS TO DIFFERENT LAWNS AND SITS AND HANGS OUT. SHE WAS UNDER OUR TREE WITH ALL THE BIRD FOOD HANGING OUT WITH THE BIRDS. >> SOON SHE HAD A BROOD OF DUCKLINGS. WEDNESYDA MORNING, THE NEW NEIGHBORS WOULD BECOME THE TALK OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD. >>HR TEE OF HER DUCKLINGS FELL INTO A STORM SEWER AND YOU COULD HEAR MOM. WE CALLED ANIMAL CONTROL, WE CALLED ANIMAL CONTROL, WE CALL THE WATER COMPANY. JANEE:LL PITTSBURGH WATER AND SEWER AUTHORITY OPEN THE GREAT, ANIMAL CONTROL DOING THE HEROIC, DIRTY WORD. THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND MOTHER DUCK WATCHED INTENTLY AS THE DELEGATE — ELLICOTT RESCUE UNFOLDED. THEY GOT TTOUO QUICKLY, THE THIRD TAKING A LITTLE EXTRA WORK. >> FLUSHED THE THIRD ONE DOWN WE CAN GET, NOW THEY ARE ALL SAFE. >> THEY WERE TAKEN TO A KIDDIE POOL SET UP NEAR THEIR NEST. MOM JOINING THEM A SHORT TIME LATER. ANIMAL CONTROL SAYS AND RESCUES LIKE THIS, TIME IS CRITICAL. >> IF THEY GO DOWN THE SEWER, ALWAYS CAL DL,ON’T HESITATE BECAUSE I DON’T KNOW HOW LONG BABY DUCKLINGS CAN LTAS SWIMMING. >>

Three ducklings were rescued after falling down a storm grate in a Pittsburgh community on Wednesday morning. Some neighbors in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood saw that the mother duck was upset and called for help.”She was very distressed, and the neighbors came together when they realized this had happened, that the ducklings were in the sewer, and we called Animal Control, who called the water company,” said Julie Arnheim.Crews were able to reunite the ducklings with their mother in a nearby after getting the grate up.Watch the video above to see the ducklings’ journey to safety.
