The 12-year FHP veteran was laid to rest Friday, the tweets said.Fort Lauderdale Police Officer Jennifer Sepot also died on Aug. 14 after contracting the virus and suffering complications, the department said. Sepot was with the department since 2017 and is survived by her husband and young child, according to the Ft. Lauderdale Police Foundation.At least 103 law enforcement officers have lost their lives to COVID-19 in 2021, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page, which counts COVID-19 as the leading cause of officer deaths this year.
