Your Turn: feedback on Afghanistan, masks in schools & boy’s fundraiser

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – The Taliban seized power in Afghanistan before the U.S. was set to complete its troop withdrawal. The situation there angers some U.S. veterans who served in that country:

I am angry at the last four presidents setting up an impossible situation, trying to nation-build in a country where it was never going to work.

MarClif Robbins

With all due respect to those that served, they should be pissed we did not pull them out as soon as Bin Laden was killed.

The state Department of Health has mandated that all students, teachers and staff wear masks in public and private schools:

This is literally child abuse. What are the chances of these kids dying from COVID or killing grandma!?

Sharee Heutz Tomaselli

If you don’t want your kids to wear masks, you should consider home schooling.

Linda King

If it reduces the chances of my family getting COVID, I am on board.

Barbara McAloon

It’s not just about the kids! We staff members have the right to be kept safe.

Eight-year-old Kayden Kraeger raised money for the Lewis County Humane Society by selling his drawings of animals:

This is awesome. This kid’s family has a lot to be proud of.

Dan Badour

Such a beautiful act of kindness.

Laura Nellis

I wish more people had big hearts like yours. Keep up the great work!
