Norwich cadets walking 50 miles for charity
Fifty Norwich University cadets, alums and friends set off on a 50-mile journey for a fundraiser. The 12th annual Legacy March benefits Northfield’s Veterans’ Place, a community-based, nonprofit, housing program. It will take three days to walk from Norwich, Vermont. Where the school originally set up shop before a devastating fire in the 1860s burned it down. They’ll end up at Norwich University’s current campus in Northfield after their journey.“I really love the comradery that comes with it and the moral. Everyone is going through the same pain, for a great cause and it gives you an opportunity to meet people that you wouldn’t be able to on campus. Like, I met some of my best friends here sophomore year when I did it. I just keep coming back and keep having a great experience,” said Lyndsey Gordon, co-president of the Legacy March Committee.Even in their 12th mile, they were keeping a brisk pace. They didn’t slow down and are probably still moving at their incredibly fast pace. All for a good cause. They have raised about $5,000 for the Veterans Place in Northfield and are hoping to raise $8,000 by this weekend.
