CANTON, New York (WWNY) – Another 4 people in the region have died from COVID-19 over the last two days.
Two people in St. Lawrence County and two in Jefferson County passed away since the counties’ last report on Wednesday.
St. Lawrence County said its death toll since the pandemic began now stands at 139. Officials reported 140 new infections. There are 16 hospitalizations.
Jefferson County’s pandemic death toll rose to 121. There were 161 new cases. Eighteen people are hospitalized.
There were no new deaths in Lewis County. Officials reported 13 hospitalizations and 35 new cases.
Here are the 7-day average positivity rates for the counties:
Jefferson: 7.7 percent
St. Lawrence: 5.97 percent
Lewis: 9.5 percent
The 7-county north country region’s rate is 6 percent.
