Increasing sun Friday afternoon followed by more clouds this weekend
Mostly quiet weekend, highs in the 50s
alright, *** good friday morning to you. We had the wind yesterday which was quite significant, gusting 40 50 MPH at times. So much so that it caused *** little bit of flooding near the shores of lake champlain. This is *** backyard in South Hero rob Swanson took this picture and sent it in. We’ve also got this image from Rouses Point taken yesterday evening where you can see the water splashing up on the park and the or the grass and the sidewalk at the marina in town. So yeah, we did have *** little bit of flooding yesterday and it will be breezy again today, but the winds will be trending weaker and out of the Northwest. Early clouds will fade the afternoon sun and then we look forward to *** quiet weekend which does feature more clouds than sun, but high temperatures both days are in the fifties, we are in the forties this morning, 37 in saranac lake and almost 50 in Bennington. We had some light showers move through last night and *** couple sprinkles in northern Vermont this morning. But as we look off to the west, the weather is mostly quiet until we get into this warm front which arrives on sunday. That’ll be our best chance for any showers all weekend long And for today, the threat for rain has already passed just cloudy to start sun in the afternoon temperatures not far from 50° and the wind out of the northwest 10 to 20 mph this is lunchtime on future cast still *** decent amount of clouds, but *** dramatic clearing of the skies. As we think about friday evening, we’ll stay mostly clear through the overnight clouds start to come back in saturday morning. I think we see *** decent amount of sun this day future cast is over playing the clouds just *** little bit and we should remain mostly dry. That shower chance doesn’t get here until first thing sunday morning, nine o’clock *** few rain drops in the champlain valley. Maybe wet snowflakes in the Northeast Kingdom. But as you can see that moves out of here pretty fast and we’re left with *** dryer end to your sunday temperature 58 by that point. So again, fifties all weekend long, then 67 on monday, but some afternoon showers possible that kicks off *** stretch of unsettled weather which lasts through most of next week And temperatures dropped back to the 40s after next Wednesday.
