Vermont City Marathon 2022: Traffic, weather and what to expect

After three years of cancellations, shortened races and other changes, the Vermont City Marathon is scheduled to return in full force this spring. Organizers have confirmed the full marathon will return on Memorial Day Weekend for the first time since 2019 — the following years were canceled or shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Here’s a closer look at the weekend of events and what to expect. Which races are returning?Organizers with RunVermont announced the state’s largest marathon will return starting at 7 a.m. on May 29. There will be no individual half marathon, 10K or 5K offerings for runners this year. There are, however, a number of relay options available for those who are searching for something a bit shorter. All of the race options will follow the traditional race route near the Lake Champlain waterfront and back up Pine Street — though your views could vary if you’re only running a section of the race. Which races are returning?

Organizers with RunVermont announced the state’s largest marathon will return starting at 7 a.m. on May 29.
