Officials have determined that a fatal fire in a home in Marshfield began in a clothes dryer.Investigators determined that the victim, George Livendale, 90 of Cabot, was overcome by smoke while trying to extinguish the fire, which started in a downstairs bathroom.The fire then spread to other areas of the home and caused extensive damage. The Marshfield Fire Department was alerted to the fire on Cabot Road at 11:40 a.m. on Monday after a passerby noticed smoke coming from the residence.Firefighters on the scene discovered heavy smoke and flames coming from the center of the home, and several area fire departments were called in to assist with extinguishing the blaze.Livendale was found dead inside the home several hours later at 2:45 p.m.
