A flatbed truck spilled at least seven portable toilets early Tuesday morning on I-94 in Wisconsin.Four cars were damaged, but no one was injured. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation video obtained by sister station WISN showed the truck driving past with the port-a-potties sliding off upright into the westbound lanes of I-94 around 4:45 a.m. Tuesday. “I see a port-a-potty flying back at me, and I try my best to swerve out of the way, but it hits my driver’s side. It causes me to pull over,” driver Alex Hilario said. He said it happened so fast, his mind was racing.”I was so shook. I was beyond shook. I was like is that a port-a-potty? I was like where did it even come from? Did they set it there? Because it was standing but rolling. So I was like there is no way this is possible. There’s no way this makes sense,” Hilario said.Another driver who hit one of the portable toilets, Vern Hicks, described a similar experience. “All of a sudden out of nowhere, there was a, a what? I didn’t know what it was at first until I hit it, and I said, ‘Oh my God I think I just hit a port-a-John in the middle of I-94,'” Hicks said. His car also had serious damage and might be totaled. Over the next few minutes, cars and trucks hit nearly all of the port-a-potties. One of them left only fluttering toilet paper behind. The portable toilets were empty at the time. One of the responding sheriff’s deputies could be heard on radio communications saying he was “responding to that crappy situation.” Authorities reported the truck was operated by LRS. The company did not return a call seeking comment. According to the sheriff’s department, the company driver was not issued any citations.Watch the video above for the full story.
