Two-thirds of Frost’s losses in Nebraska were by a touchdown or less.“Earlier today I met with Coach Frost and informed him we were making a change in the leadership of our football program, effective immediately. The revised deal lowered Frost’s salary for 2022 from $5 million to $4 million and reduced his buyout from $15 million to $7.5 million if he was fired after October 1, 2023. The agreement set undisclosed metrics for 2022 that, if achieved, would have returned his salary to $5 million in 2023 and extended his contract through 2027.It’s not immediately clear how the firing announced Sunday will impact Frost’s buyout.Frost also fired four assistant coaches in November 2021 as part of his renegotiated agreement.
