I DON’T KNOW HOW TO THANK EVERYBODY EXCEPT TO SAY DAILY, YOU ARE REMEMBERED IN MY PRAYERS. >> SITTING IN A SAFE HAVEN AT THE ARCHDIOCESE OF NEW ORLEANS, SISTER SUELLEN TENNYSON SPOKE TO THE CLARION HAROLD, EXPRESSING IMMENSE GRATITUDE IN THIS VIDEO. >> I CANNOT COMPREHEND OR FIND A WAY TO EXPRESS THE GRATITUDE THAT IS DONE MY HEART — THAT IS IN MY HEART FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN PRAYING FOR ME. >> THE 83-YEAR-OLD NUN WAS ABDUCTED FROM THE MEDICAL MISSION RESIDENCE IN BURKINA FASO. SHE WAS A MISSIONARY THERE SINCE 2013. ACCORDING TO THE CLARION HERALD, THE KIDNAPPERS WERE PART OF A MUSLIM GROUP. 10 ARMED MEN GRABBED HER FROM HER BED, BLINDFOLDED HER AND TOOK HER AWAY ON A MOTORCYCLE. FOR 5 MONTHS THERE WAS NO WORD ON WHERE SHE WAS OR HOW SHE WAS DOING. >> HOLY MARY, MOTHER OF GOD — >> BACK IN NEW ORLEANS, WORRY AND CONCERN SHROUDED THE CITY AND PRAYER VIGILS WERE HELD FOR THE MARY KNIGHT SISTER. >> I ALWAYS KNEW MY COMMUNITY AND MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WERE PRAYING, BUT NOW I’M FINDING OUT, THERE WERE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE PRAYING FOR ME AROUND THE WORLD. >> SISTER SUELLEN TOLD THE CATHOLIC PAPER THAT SHE WAS UNHARMED AND ON AUGUST 31 RELEASED INTO THE CUSTODY OF THE FBI, U.S. EMBASSY, AND AIR WAS. >> I’M FINDING OUT ALL THE FBI AGENTS AND EMBASSIES THAT WERE WORKING TO FIND ME. A nun with ties to New Orleans who was kidnapped in Africa back in April has returned home. Suellen Tennyson spoke about her kidnapping to the Clarion Herald.She spoke about her time in captivity and thanked those who prayed for her safe return. Tennyson was abducted by armed men in Burkina Faso, where she was stationed as a missionary since 2014. She said she was freed peacefully and released into the custody of the FBI, U.S. Embassy, and Air Force. She said no ransom was paid she quietly returned to Louisiana on Aug. 31. Tennyson said she was thankful to be alive and for her safe treatment while in captivity.
