
A person of interest in the New Hampshire homicide of Stephen and Djeswende Reid is behind bars for unrelated charges after police from multiple states were searching for him.South Burlington police say 26-year-old Logan Clegg was being sought out by New Hampshire Police because of the Concord homicide. Clegg was also wanted on an arrest warrant for a separate case out of Cache County in Utah related to a felony possession of stolen property case where he is on probation.Clegg was found and arrested Wednesday morning at the South Burlington library and is currently being charged as a fugitive from justice for the warrant out of Utah.Clegg, who is homeless, was arraigned in Chittenden Superior Court on Thursday. A judge on Thursday morning ordered Clegg to be held without bail on a probation violation. He also set bail for $20,000 for “other matters” in the case.He was not arrested in relation to the New Hampshire homicide investigation.Clegg was spotted by New Hampshire detectives on Williston Road in South Burlington around 10 a.m. Wednesday, South Burlington police said. He was taken into custody near the South Burlington Public Library without incident, police said.According to court records in Utah, Clegg was arrested in August 2020 and charged with shoplifting. A stolen firearm was found tucked into his waistband, according to the records.Later that month, Clegg was again arrested in Utah following a report of a burglary in progress. A search of Clegg turned up a stolen firearm and a set of lockpicks, according to the records.Kelton Olney, Chittenden County Deputy’s State Attorney, says the next steps for Clegg is to decide whether he will “waive extradition back to Utah”, which will enable Utah authorities to come pick him up.If he elects not to waive his extradition, Utah will be required to get a governor’s warrant before they are in a position to “have the authorities come pick him up”, according to Olney. There have been no arrests or suspects named in the killings of the Reids, but investigators released a sketch of a person of interest in May.
