
The last Section VII volleyball team left standing fell just short of continuing in the postseason, as Lake Placid High School was swept by Section II’s Lake George in three sets. The Warriors were led by Evie Burke (15 kills) and Angelina Minnear (10 kills) offensively, combining for 25 of the team’s 37 kills on the afternoon. Lake Placid’s offense was fueled by senior middle hitter Julia Crawford. She finished the night with seven kills, including surpassing 200 career kills for her first kill of the game. While Crawford’s team was eliminated today, she says she will miss playing with the girls on her team who always kept it positive on the court, no matter the circumstance. “We all just got along,” Crawford said. “We’re constantly talking to each other, we went to help each other. We’re just really passionate about the sport and we all want to do well and play our best.”Lake George advances to the New York Class D final four tournament in Glens Falls, New York. Their first match will take place Saturday, Nov. 19.
