rain or shine UV *** student volunteers are stepping out in place of teachers *** few days *** week. Teachers were walking the kids to school for probably the first three weeks of school without U. V. ***. Students and they are really the ones that took the initiative. They’re all volunteers. So it’s just so impressive that they wake up so early and do this every single day on top of teaching these kids. For some, it’s the highly of their semester, getting to know the kids they walk with weekly. Yeah, I’ve loved going to the walking bus. It’s just like I do it every Wednesday morning. It’s just fun to kind of get up and start your day. Um kind of talking to these kids that are like so awesome and they have like such fun and I don’t know funny stories, it’s just such *** good way to start the day, this volunteer opportunity through Madison House helps get them more involved. And I think it’s important to recognize that we don’t necessarily interact with the Charlottesville community enough, *** place they live for four years or more. It is now easier to call home. I think going to U. V. ***. It’s super like you only interact with people that are in U. V. ***. In that tiny little bubble, just kind of interacting with the local Charlottesville community. I think it’s really empowering and it makes you feel like, oh this is kind of your home even though you’re here for four years. The walking bus groups have anywhere to 7 to 10 Children
