It was a night to remember for Saranac Central High School senior Sydney Myers. A special milestone of scoring 1,000 career points helped lift her Chiefs squad to the 52-27 victory over Plattsburgh High School. An accolade adding to an already impressive list for Myers, after scoring 100 career soccer goals for the high school girls’ soccer team in the fall. It made the moment more special for her knowing her family and loved ones were in attendance at Saranac High School gym to support her. “It’s really special,” Myers said. “I never imagined starting basketball that I’d ever be here and knowing that I can play this with my girls my senior year and celebrate it with all my family and friends is truly amazing.”Myers finished the night scoring 17 points, after reaching 1,001 points within just the first few minutes of the first quarter. Myers was four points away heading into the matchup. Saranac sophomore Breena Ducatte also chipped in with 16 points on the night as well. Saranac Central will look to keep the winning ways going on Friday, Dec. 16, at 6:30 p.m. as it hosts Peru High School. Plattsburgh will look to bounce back at home on Friday, Dec. 16, at 6:30 p.m. as it hosts Northeastern Clinton Central High School.
