Northeastern Clinton Central High School boys’ basketball takes down the defending Section VII Class B champion Plattsburgh Hornets, 49-35, with solid play on both sides of the ball. The Cougars held the Hornets to just 10 points in the first half, thanks to a halfcourt trap that generated a lot of steals leading to easy points. NCCS’ Evan Manor led all scorers on the night with 19 points. He also added 14 rebounds to that performance, finishing with a double-double. NCCS will look to keep their winning streak in a redemption match against Ausable Valley high school, after losing to them earlier in the season in the Patriot Preseason tip-off tournament. That matchup will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 7:30 p.m.Plattsburgh will look to bounce back in a non-league contest against Madrid-Waddington Central High School on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 1:30 p.m.
