
Seton Catholic High School girls’ basketball held off a late comeback effort by Schroon Lake high school to take the 36-34 win at home. Madison Whalen and Charlotte Hughes delivered in the second half to put the Knights in a comfortable eight-point lead at the end of the third quarter. The Wildcats used strong defense and scoring from Ally Baker to cut their deficit down to as many as one point. However, a free throw and tough defense from Seton Catholic for the next few possessions ensured the home victory. Seton Catholic will look to keep their winning ways going against Saranac Central High School on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 4 p.m. Schroon Lake will look to bounce back during their two-game homestand starting against Boquet Valley High School on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 7:15 p.m.
