Beekmantown High School boys’ ice hockey continued their undefeated start to the season with a 6-1 win over Rye Central High School. The Eagles had six different scorers for each goal in the semifinal matchup against the Garnets, a solid accomplishment against a former undefeated team. “It was huge,” said Beekmantown senior forward Luke Moser. “Last year, we had one line that was doing most of the work. This year, everyone’s been chipping in. They can’t plan on one line to shut us down; it’s got to be everyone.”Four of the Eagles goals came in the second period to give them a 4-0 edge. After being held scoreless in the first period, all it took was a bit of an extended locker room talk to get Beekmantown back on track against Rye. “We knew they were a good team, but we knew we were better,” said Beekmantown sophomore defender Quinn Brandell. “We had another gear in us, we went out put up four and the rest is history.”Beekmantown advances to the Appleebees’ classic final to face the GMSVS on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m.
