Burr & Burton would continue to tack on, holding a lead with seconds remaining.The Hornets had an opportunity at the buzzer, but junior Annika Redmond could not convert at the buzzer allowing Burr & Burton to take a 55-42 win. North Country, on the other hand, saw a different sort of drama. Junior forward Aaliyah Wilburn showed off her repertoire of skills to help the Falcons build up a 17-0 lead over Mt. Mansfield in the first quarter.It was an uncharacteristic start from the Cougars, who clawed back to make it a 51-49 final score.North Country and Burr & Burton now meet in the championship game of the MMU girls hoops holiday tournament on Thursday at 7 p.m. Essex and Mt. Mansfield also take the court again in the consolation matchup at 5:30 p.m.
