Few snow showers this weekend
Snowy weekend, especially in the mountains, with more light snow likely by Tuesday
After a bitterly cold start, temperatures reach into the teens under plentiful cloud cover and patchy light snow showers Saturday afternoon.Saturday’s snow shower threat is mostly confined to the mountains, where an inch or two are possible. Just expecting a few flakes, with a patchy coating for valley locations.Staying mostly cloudy Saturday night, but expecting another cold start to the day on Sunday, with temperatures in the single digits.A nice temperature recovery by Sunday afternoon, as temperatures rise close to 30°, but a higher chance for snow showers, with embedded squalls. A quick dusting to a few inches will be possible. Most of Monday is quiet, but we are looking ahead to another storm threat Monday night through Tuesday… unlike the last storm, this one features an interaction between two distinct areas of low pressure. There will likely be some mixing in play as well, as temperatures will be marginal to support snow.Expecting minor snow accumulation from this system, but stay tuned for updates through the weekend!Follow the NBC5 First Warning Weather team on social media:Chief Meteorologist Tyler Jankoski Facebook | Twitter | InstagramMeteorologist Ben Frechette Facebook | TwitterMeteorologist Matt DiLoreto Facebook | TwitterMeteorologist Andrew Grautski Facebook | Twitter
