
Watching the risk for heavy, wet snow and strong wind as a Nor’easter impacts the region Monday night through Wednesday morning.Expecting cloudy skies Monday, with a few valley rain and mountain snow showers. Monday will be another mild day, with high temperatures around 40. Then expecting the main slug of moisture to push into the region Monday night.Expecting light rain in valley locations and wet snow for the higher terrain Monday night, eventually flipping to mostly snow throughout the day Tuesday.Expecting heavy, wet snow and strong wind to cause travel and power outage impacts for parts of the region throughout Tuesday. The toughest travel and highest risk for power outages are expected in southern and central VT, especially for areas above 1000 feet.Snow and wind continues Tuesday night, then wrapping up with snow showers but staying blustery heading into Wednesday.At this point, still expecting the highest snow totals to fall in southern and central Vermont, where 1 to 2 feet of snow are possible, especially in the southern Greens. Up to a foot of snow will be possible in the Adirondacks.Expecting lighter totals for parts of the North County and Northern Vermont. At this point, 2-4″ of accumulation looks likely for parts of the North Country and the Champlain Valley through Wednesday, with some totals over 4″ possible in the Northeast Kingdom. Snow totals generally increase further south and for areas higher in elevation.Stay tuned for any updates to storm track and snowfall amounts.
