Barrie Finnegan, of North Country Honor Flight, named 2023 Irishman of the Year

The announcement was made at the North Country Chamber of Commerce’s St. Patrick’s Day breakfast

After many laughs from the master of ceremonies, Matt Boire, the highlight of the event was the announcement of the North Country Chamber of Commerce’s Irishman of the Year. This year’s pick was Barrie Finnegan of the North Country Honor Flight. “When you get the opportunity to change somebody’s life and you see the results and they come back and they tell you that, it’s just a moment that you can’t help but continue,” said Finnegan, of his time spent taking veterans to see the war memorials in Washington, D.C. with the North Country Honor Flight.The North Country Chamber of Commerce keeps the announcement a surprise for the recipient.Finnegan said he was surprised, honored and hubled to be recognized.
