SUNY Plattsburgh men’s lacrosse (2-3) was unable to defend home turf for the first game in Plattsburgh this season, falling to Plymouth State University (5-1) 9-5. The Cardinals fell behind 5-1 after the end of the first half, and were not able to come back from there. SUNY Plattsburgh did play a strong second half, tying Plymouth State 4-4 in the second half in goals scored. Plattsburgh featured four different scorers, led by junior midfielder Anthony Faber with two goals. Senior midfielder and captain Owen Lorenzetti emphasized that balanced scoring play is something his squad is looking to work on in hopes that it will lead to more wins in the future. “Running the offense, moving it around and trusting your teammates,” Lorenzetti said. “Sometimes I’m a big victim of it, I want to be the one that scores the goal I want to be the one that gets the glory but it’s a team game, you got to help your boys and your boys got to help you.”SUNY Plattsburgh will look to bounce back on Saturday, March 18 with another home contest against Hartwick College at 1 p.m.
