Saranac Lake Police host active shooter training this week
Training will be held at the Saranac Lake High School and the former St. Pius School on Petrova Ave.
Law enforcement officers from all across upstate New York are coming together this week to host a series of active shooter training sessions.Training will be held at the Saranac Lake High School and the former St. Pius School on Petrova Ave.Nearly 50 officers from across the region will participate in the training, including police from Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, Tupper Lake, Essex County Sheriff’s Office, Plattsburgh and more.Training will be closed to the public, and signage will be posted to alert community members to increased police presence, according to the announcement.The training sessions were planned well before the series of recent “swatting” incidents at local schools, according to officials.
