
Burlington Fire responded to a home on 47 Cedar Street in the city’s Old North End for a structure fire Friday night.Neighbors across the street say they noticed something was wrong around 9:30 p.m. The fire department’s account on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, noted that they had multiple crews responding to the scene.Chief Mike LaChance told NBC5 News that the fire started in the basement and that the basement and first floor were destroyed. There was also a good amount of damage to the second floor of the home.One person came out of the home during the fire and was being evaluated. LaChance doesn’t believe anyone else was in the house at the time.The state fire investigator was expected to arrive at the property to determine the cause of the fire.
