After losing in the Section VII Class B championship game last season, Beekmantown high school boys’ soccer made a statement to open this season. The Eagles picked up two wins in three days, including a 2-0 shoutout victory over the Plattsburgh high school Hornets to secure the Frankie Garrow championship title. Beekmantown junior Markel Mosley was huge for his squad in both games, scoring three goals, and an assist. In the title match against Plattsburgh his assist was able to set up Jackson Goodwin for a rebound shot to give Beekmantown the 1-0 lead. His third goal came on a free kick. Beekmantown will open its regular season against Ausable Valley high school at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7. Plattsburgh will look to bounce back in its regular season opener against Saranac high school at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7.
