A tight battle at Plattsburgh High School on the pitch led the girls’ soccer team to take down Saranac High School in overtime, 3-2. The game was back and forth throughout the night, featuring Saranac’s Brenna Ducatte and Plattsburgh’s Amaya Abellard exchanging goals to leave the score tied at 2-2 at the end of regulation. With the game on the line, it was Plattsburgh’s Bailey Hewson who delivered the game-winner, taking the 3-2 victory in extra time. On the same day, Northern Adirondack High School showed an impressive scoring display, tallying five goals in a 5-1 win over Seton Catholic High School. Ava Moore led the way for the Bobcats with five goals, where hers and most of the team’s goals came exclusively from beyond the 18 box, leading their offense to open up for four different scorers to shine. “We took a lot of shots from outside the 18 and that really helped,” said NAC senior midfielder Ashyly Seguin. “Not many goals are scored inside the 18, so we work on that and work on passing it at just the right moment.”You can see highlights from both games in the video above.
