A MOOving story: Make-A-Wish gifts Homer the mini cow to a teen

Taking a look around the Crutcher family’s Tennessee home, you quickly realize someone’s favorite animal is miniature highland cows.As she gives a tour, Brylee Crutcher points out pictures of the mini cows on the wall in her bedroom. She’s also got mini highland cow slippers and a mini highland cow puzzle. The 15-year-old told WTVF that she has always dreamed of adopting one of the cows and raising it on the family farm in Bethpage, Tennessee, which is about 40 miles outside of Nashville. Recently, Brylee has been going through some health issues.”She was diagnosed with malignant ovarian cancer and I said, ‘That’s it.’ I said ‘Armor of God on the weapon is formed, but it won’t prosper and we’re gonna get this done and then she’s in remission,” Jennifer Crutcher, Brylee’s mother, told WTVF.The Crutcher’s farm is located in a tight-knit community. When Brylee was diagnosed, the people of Bethpage, Tennessee, got together and raised $72,000 for her treatment and care amid her battle with cancer.And keeping true to their sense of community spirit, people from the town were there to cheer as Make-A-Wish and Tractor Supply Foundation made a wish come true for Brylee.Brylee got an early dismissal from school on Friday and showed up to the farm to see the large crowd of cheering neighbors. When she was presented with the cow, Brylee was in disbelief. “I was, like, ‘Is that mine or did somebody’s cow get over here?'” Brylee said of her reaction when she first saw the cow. “He’s very cute. I named him Homer,” Brylee said. “Whenever I saw him I was like ‘He just looks like a Homer.'”The teenager was thrilled to have her wish granted and said that it was a “very good day.””I’m so overwhelmed with happiness right now,” Brylee said.See Homer and hear more of Brylee’s story in the video player above
