Oktoberfest at Dry Hill brings many to the ski area

TOWN OF WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Many were ringing in the feeling of fall at Dry Hill Ski Area.

People flocked to the hill for its 1st annual Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday.

There were plenty of beers being poured, as well as live music, vendors, and activities for kids.

Dry Hill Owners Boo Wells and Pat Jareo have been running operations for about a year now, and both say it’s been fun making the hill not just a ski slope but a year round destination for people of the North Country.

“You know, the more people we can expose Dry Hill to, the more people will know that we are here and they can come have fun outside and hike the hill or take a ski lesson. It’s just we want people to enjoy being here,” said Wells.

Wells says with ski season right around the corner, their mission is to attract as many kids as they can to come to the hill. Part of that outreach has been reaching out to local school districts to explain what the hill has to offer.
