Plattsburgh YMCA receives $25K grant
New funding for the YMCA will go toward development of the facility at the old CVPH
The new YMCA in Plattsburgh has received a $25,000 donation from The Northeast Group, a third-party logistics fulfillment warehouse based in Plattsburgh. Funding will go toward the renovation of the former CVPH Wellness Center on New York Road. Justin Ihne, CEO of the Plattsburgh YMCA says the plan to create a state-of-the-art health and wellness facility is on track and this gift is welcomed to help with the project. The New Plattsburgh YMCA will bring wellness to the forefront of North Country health. With expanded community areas, spaces for youth and families, and characteristic YMCA inclusivity. Parents will have workspaces and observation areas while children are playing, teens will have a safe place where they can be active, and everyone will be able to access the YMCA, regardless of ability to pay. The Plattsburgh YMCA’s decision to bring the new facility to the south end of town supports the continued revitalization of the former Air Force base.
