WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Water was handed out door to door Thursday night at apartment buildings around Watertown.
State police and city workers were handing out hundreds of cases of canned water.
We’re told more than 400 cases were given out.
“It’s not what I was expecting to do today, but you know it is a great privilege to be able to serve my community and get water to people,” Trooper Luke Evans said. “It’s such a basic thing that we don’t necessarily think of all the time, but the fact that we can be out here and handing this out is a huge help to the community.”
State police say it’s important to make sure everyone, including pets, has drinkable water.
