Man hit by bus in stable condition

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – The man hit by a bus in Watertown Thursday night is in stable condition.

Watertown police offered that update Friday.

The incident happened at 5:30 PM Thursday, in the 500 block of State Street, near the site of the new Taco Bell. The man was airlifted to a Syracuse hospital.

The bus didn’t stop after hitting the man, and police eventually located it in Carthage. No charges have been filed.

Police said the 76 year old man was walking on State Street when he was struck. Police said Thursday night that the man suffered serious injuries to one of his legs.
