No injuries in Watertown apartment building fire

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – A Watertown apartment building was damaged by fire Wednesday evening.

City fire officials say they responded to 624 Gotham Street shortly before 8:30 p.m. and found fire on the first and second floors of the three-apartment building, as well as in the attic.

No one was home and no injuries were reported. Fire was contained to the attic and two rooms on each of the first and second floors. The rest of the building sustained smoke and water damage.

The cause is under investigation.

Helping city firefighters at the scene were the Fort Drum Fire Department, Watertown police, and Guilfoyle Ambulance.
