After seven weeks of fighting between Israel and Hamas. The first significant pause to release some hostages could be right around the corner. This was the work of *** lot of intense diplomacy and in any negotiation like this, there’s compromises that have to be made. The deal struck between Israel and Hamas is expected to include *** four day ceasefire in that time, Qatar who helped brokered the deal says Hamas would release 50 women and Children and Israel would release 150 Palestinian prisoners each day. There will be an obligation on each side, an obligation on the Israelis and an obligation on Hamas White House. National Security spokesman John Kirby tells me they’re hopeful this will include the release of three Americans with President Biden playing *** key role. The president was personally involved and actively engaged in getting this deal done because he knows how much it matters to all those families who are in agony right now. The families of the hostages remaining hopeful but still have concerns. Not only do we not have more hostages released, but I don’t even know if my mother is alive or not, which is crazy to me, I still think that there’s *** long way to go and we have to understand that this is just the beginning. The White House says the break in fighting will also allow more aid to get into Gaza including fuel to help hospitals run. Hopefully over the next of these next few days, we’re talking several 100 trucks of aid and it’ll be the kinds of things that we know the people of Gaza need food, water, medicine, as I said, fuel.
