TOWN OF WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – It was a busy Black Friday at Salmon Run Mall as a legion of shoppers combed through stores.
Molly McMasters’ bargain hunting took her to Dick’s Sporting Goods where she had her sights set on shoes.
“You look online and you try to find something, but there’s something about being here in the store putting your hands on stuff that is just better,” said McMasters.
Molly’s father had a different objective
“This is why I’m tagging along. Taking notes. Trying to see what she’s interested in,” said Phil McMasters.
Another hot destination: JCPenny.
“I’m hoping to find stuff for my daughter Charlie, and this is her,” said Gabryella Stevens.
There, it was all about the deals on clothes and jewelry.
“I’m hoping to find jewelry deals and clothes. For a lot of the year it’s really expensive, so I’m hoping today is the day I get something I like,” said Justine Tsogbe.
At Bath and Body Works, folks lined up well outside the store, and for good reason because every item was buy 3 get 3 free.
“I think my favorite scent is Japanese Cherry Blossom because it reminds me of my grandma. She used to get it for me when I was younger,” said Amelia Crapser.
“There was this one called Hope Peace- something. It was a Christmas one. That was really good,” said Harper Lane.
Others like Nancy Carlson and her sister decided to spend their Black Friday shopping local at the 315 Artisan Market.
“I personally know some of the local people, so it helps keep the money here. I moved here over 40 years ago,” said Carlson.
Black Friday may be just about over but the bargain hunting will continue next week with Cyber Monday.
