Three displaced in Town of Watertown fire

TOWN OF WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Three people have been displaced from their Town of Watertown home after a fire broke out early Saturday morning.

According to Town of Watertown 2nd Assistant Chief Jason Lee, crews arrived at a home on State Route 12 to find heavy smoke coming from inside.

Crews were able to knock the blaze down within a half hour but the home sustained extensive smoke and water damage.

Two adults and an 11-year-old child were home at the time but they were able to get out safely with no injuries reported.

Town of Watertown Fire worked alongside City of Watertown , Rutland , Black River, and Northpole fire departments.

Fire investigators are still looking into a cause of that fire.

The American Red Cross is helping the family in the interim.
