This is what you need to do to find the best deals on Amazon for Cyber Monday

November 26, 2023
in Local NNY News
This is what you need to do to find the best deals on Amazon for Cyber Monday
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the biggest shopping days of the entire year. It’s known for doorbuster deals, massive markdowns and super savings, and over the years, Black Friday sales have extended through Cyber Monday as more shoppers have taken to doing their shopping online rather than rushing to retail stores. This year, Amazon has decided to do things differently. Last year, Amazon held a Prime Day-like sale for Black Friday, making their deals live on the morning of Thanksgiving and having Black Friday deals live for 48 hours. Amazon is activated their Black Friday deals a whole week early, slashing prices on Nov. 17 and have deals live all the way through Cyber Monday. Related video above: Jeff Rossen walks you through insider secrets for Cyber Monday But you may be wondering to yourself after shopping on Black Friday or holding out until Cyber Monday if the deal you find is actually worth it. How do you know the discount you’re seeing is actually a good deal or if it’s the best price this item has seen all year? We’re going to help you answer those questions here and walk you through how we are able to find the best deals on Amazon and communicate with you if there’s a deal worth adding to your cart, or if you should pass on it and go for something else instead. Amazon has a page all about Today’s DealsEvery day, whether it’s Black Friday or not, there is a page on Amazon where you can go and find out what’s on sale. That’s the first step we take when looking for deals that we may not know about. We linked it for you below. Click here to see Amazon’s Deals PageSomething new we’ve noticed as we highlight deals is that Amazon now offers you deals around previous searches. You can see below as we were producing our guides on the best toy deals and best kitchen deals we’re seeing, Amazon remembered those searches and delivered us deals around those categories. If you keep scrolling down the page, you’ll then see all the active deals on Amazon and be able to filter by departments such as “Amazon Devices” or “Beauty & Personal Care.” That’s a great way to filter through the hundreds, if not thousands, of deals active on Amazon at any given time. Oftentimes, this deals page we just shared with you also tends to be the link that is used by Amazon during big sales events like Prime Day or Black Friday. Here’s the link again in case you want to bookmark it. Click here to bookmark Amazon’s Deals PageThis price tracker tells you what’s a good deal on AmazonSo we’re on the deals page on Amazon. Let’s say we’re looking for a vacuum cleaner this Cyber Monday and after combing through the deals page, we find this Dyson V11 cordless stick vacuum is on sale. Amazon is showing us that the cordless stick vacuum has a deal going on right now as it is 30% off, giving us $170 worth of savings. Sounds great right? It does, but we want to make sure this deal is worth it so we copy the product link and we go to a price tracker website like CamelCamelCamel. This is the website we use all the time before we decide whether or not to share a deal with you and it’s because CamelCamelCamel typically tracks prices on items ever since they were posted on Amazon. We paste the link into CamelCamelCamel and it shows us a chart that shows what the price of this Dyson V11 cordless stick vacuum has been. We see that while the 30% discount is great, it isn’t the lowest price CamelCamelCamel has seen (the best deal according to the tracker has been 37% off). With that information, you can now decide whether you want to wait until Black Friday proper to see if the Dyson vacuum drops to that price, or if the savings are good for your budget, you can add to your cart and buy it. Honey will tell you if they see an Amazon item lower on another siteLet’s say CamelCamelCamel showed the Dyson vacuum was actually at its best price on Amazon, how could we check to see if that’s really the best deal online we could find? There’s a browser extension we use called Honey.Honey is a browser extension that automatically searches for the internet’s best coupons on tens of thousands of sites. It can also tell you on Amazon if they found out there is a different seller that has a better price on Amazon, as well as track if there’s another retailer that may have a better deal. Best part? It’s free. All it takes is adding Honey to your browser extensions and it does the work from there. Let’s use an item that may be on many people’s lists this holiday season: The PlayStation 5, more specifically, the PlayStation 5 Disc Console – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Bundle. As of this writing, the PlayStation 5 bundle is 11% off on Amazon, which Amazon says is the lowest price in the last 30 days. Using CamelCamelCamel, it backs up Amazon’s claim and says that this is the best price it’s ever seen on the item. Using Honey, we’re able to see that this is the best seller on Amazon, but Honey wants us to compare it to five other stores and see if Amazon is truly where we could get the best deal. According to Honey, the best deal would be Walmart because there’s an opportunity for cash-back with Honey that isn’t available on Amazon. Though you can also see on the list that the cashback opportunity is also available at Target, and the potential for more savings with coupons. Keep an eye out for coupons that give you extra savings on AmazonNow that you know about CamelCamelCamel and Honey, there’s one more thing you need to do to make sure you’re getting the best deal possible on Amazon during your Black Friday shopping spree. You need to watch for coupons that could be clipped and added to your order. There is a place on Amazon where you can go and instantly see what coupons are available. We’ll link it for you below. Click here to view Amazon’s Coupons pageSometimes, you will be able to see on the product listing if there is a coupon available, so be alert when adding an item to your cart if there is a coupon that could be clipped. You’ll often see it right underneath the pricing. Make a list, check it twice, and happy Black Friday and Cyber Monday shoppingThe biggest step you need to take should happen before any of the steps we mentioned above, and that’s making your shopping list on Amazon. Create a list, title it Black Friday Shopping List, and add the items you want to keep track of into that list. That way, all the way through Cyber Monday, you can look at your list and use the steps we’ve highlighted here to see if there’s a deal worthwhile for your list. We have our own list of items we’re watching for you and we used CamelCamelCamel and Honey to share recommendations below of items we’re seeing right now that are actually deals you should take advantage of. Bissell Little Green Machine – This popular cleaning appliance is currently 28% off on Amazon, meaning it’s under $100. Checking CamelCamelCamel, this discount matches what was seen during Prime Day, and Honey says Amazon is the top pick retailer considering the deal being seen. Because of that, we recommend taking advantage of this deal, because this product tends to sell out fast. iRobot Roomba i5+ robot vacuum and mop combo – This robot vacuum and mop combo is currently 37% off, which is the lowest price we’ve seen on the item all year. If you’re looking for a robot vacuum that can also mop for you, look no further. Peloton Bike+ – Amazon is marking down the latest stationary bike from the popular fitness brand by 20%, a savings of $500. This is the best price seen on the Peloton Bike+ since it was released this year. Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II – These popular earbuds are currently 29% off their original price, making it the lowest price ever seen on this item. There’s always a chance the deal could be deeper on Black Friday, but right now, it’s already the best price ever seen. Ninja AF161 Max XL Air Fryer – One of the most top-rated air fryers on the market is 47% off its original price right now, the lowest price ever seen on this item on Amazon. Not only that, but if you wanted to look elsewhere, Honey shows us there is a potential 2% cash back added on to the discounted price.
