He said he believes the incident was motivated by hate and happened because the three of them were speaking Arabic.”We’re stepping closer towards Hisham’s grandmother’s house and he turns around, looks at us and without saying a word, it’s almost surreal,” said Abdalhamid. “Just went down the steps, pulled out a pistol and shot my friend.”Abdalhamid was also shot while running from the scene. He managed to knock on a neighbor’s door for help, not even realizing he had been shot.The 20-year-old college student said his recent training as a paramedic helped him stop his own bleeding and ultimately helped him survive.He was released from the hospital several days ago, but his two other friends are still receiving treatment.
