However, 10 months after she was found abandoned in the woods, the baby has been adopted. The sheriff’s office said the adoptive parents chose to keep their names private but shared pictures of themselves with the baby girl. “We are thrilled to share with you these photos from this morning of this precious angel with her new mom and dad, along with PCSO’s Detective Green and Sgt. Ryan,” deputies wrote. Florida’s Safe Haven Law allows parents to leave unharmed newborns less than a week old at any Safe Haven facility (hospitals or staffed EMS/fire stations) without fear of prosecution.
