An emergency room doctor in Texas is something of a “roll model” and is creating new retirement goals after he went viral on social media for rolling into retirement in an out-of-the-ordinary way.Lots of people have probably fantasized about quitting their jobs with a slash.Dr. Phil Masterson made it happen.To say farewell and head into retirement after four decades practicing medicine, he rolled into the ER on roller skates and wearing a “Retired” sash given to him by people who work at the ER, which is outside of Dallas.“I’ve always had a thought, you know, when I retire I want to do something crazy,” Masterson told CNN’s Jeanne Moos.Masterson, who grew up in Detroit, has been roller skating since he was a teen. The doctor is turning 70, and he admits that there are some moves he can’t do any longer. But he proved he can still skate. The staff enjoyed seeing him come rolling into the ER with Ray Charles’ “Hit the Road Jack” playing. “They were flabbergasted,” the doctor said.Masterson’s daughter, Nichole Masterson, posted a video of the event to TikTok.
