A new Miss Vermont & Miss Vermont’s Teen has been crowned in the Green Mountain State.Meara Seely of Brattleboro was named as Miss Vermont 2024. The 24-year-old graduated from George Washington University in 2022 and earned a BFA in Photojournalism. Seely currently works as a digital producer for a member of Vermont’s Congressional delegation.Charlee Royer of Newport was named as Miss Vermont’s Teen 2024. Royer says she hopes to obtain her doctorate in Psychiatry. The 15-year-old also received a full academic scholarship to the University of Alabama through the Miss America Opportunity. Royer also won a $2,500 scholarship.Both Seely and Royer are involved in community service and have launched their own initiatives.Seely’s initiative is called “Green for Good.” According to the news release, she advocates for sustainability and environmental responsibility. Royer helps lead “Beyond the Ribbon; Providing Mental Health Support for Children Affected By Cancer.” Royer was inspired to launch this initiative because her mother is a breast cancer survivor.Seely and Royer were crowned at a ceremony at Spruce Peak Arts in Stowe. Seely plans to compete for Miss America in 2025 early next year.
