– I met Beyonce. I ain’t know she was a real person, for real. Like I love her so bad and when I touched her I was like, “Oh, she real!” (laughing) (upbeat music) – Hey, what’s up? It’s Glorilla and I will be reminiscing on my first with “Elle.” But before we get started, make sure you check out my digital cover with “Elle” right now. (upbeat music) My first performance was at a talent show in Memphis Tennessee at Fairley High School where I rapped. The first time I heard a song that inspired me to do music was, I’m gonna say Chief Keef “Earned It”. Some of my music influences today are Chief Keef, Three 6 Mafia, Beyonce. I ain’t even gonna say it. (laughing) I fixing to say the Elle. Them my top three. My first big break was when I made F-N-F and it went viral everywhere. So the F-N-F challenge on TikTok, it was like a little dance when it was like, I ain’t popping out at parties, got a booty for show and they was doing a little dance. I never learned how to do it, but that went viral. Seeing so many people on, all over all the social media websites doing the challenge, it was just like, “Wow, everybody know my song.” It was like so many videos and I was trying to share all of ’em but I couldn’t ’cause it was just so many. It felt good. They let me know that it went viral. My first celebrity encounter was… who was the first celebrity I met? (laughing) Oh, you know what? I met Beyonce at the Grammys. Like I ain’t know she was a real person for real. Like I love her so bad and when I touched her I was like, “Ooh, she real!” (laughing) I still got the wig I had on when I met her. It’s put up in my hats. The first music collaboration I did was when I made “Blessed” and Yo Gotti got on there. “Blessed” came together, I was in the studio. I had made the song and so I was like this hard and so I had called Gotti in, ’cause Gotti was in the same studio. I was like, “Come listen to this song” and he listened to it. He felt that, then I was like, “You should get on it.” And so he went in there instantly and recorded. He was freestyling. He made like two verses and I picked which one I wanted but he instantly went in there fast, freestyled it and then boom, we had “Blessed.” My first music video was in 2019, the first year I started rapping and it was to a song called 1-4-6 Freestyle. That’s the name of the first song I performed 1-4-6 freestyle. It was my first video and I was like, “Oh damn, this is how they shoot videos.” It was cool. My first big splurge, I’ma say my teeth. I had got them instantly ’cause my teeth was real ugly at first, like they look like baby shark teeth. (laughing) That was like 25,000. The first thing I do before a big performance after I do glam and everything I get all my dancers together and we say a prayer. The first thought that came to my head when they asked me to perform at the 2023 Grammys was I thought they was lying. I thought they was just trying to be funny and play with me. You know what I’m saying? Make me feel good. What? Hey! When I found out they was true I saw it on Twitter and stuff. I saw everybody texting me, congratulations. I had just landed in LA and I was leaving the airport and they called me and I was like, “What?” No, Gotti called me and I was like, “You lying.” I went on Twitter and it was all over Twitter, so I was like, “Ahh!” Being on stage with all them iconic hip hop artists. I was like scared, like I was super nervous. I was like, I hope I don’t mess up. I did sneak mess up a little bit but I hope I ain’t nobody notice it. But yeah, it was iconic then like at the end when we all was standing up there together, I was like, dang these people I used to watch on TV and listen to when I was little and I’m up here with them now. It was crazy. My favorite red carpet look was at the Grammy’s. It was a black and white dress, like it was white and it had like the black lightning looking stuff going down and I had the bob that flipped out. It was creep. My first nomination was the B-E-T Hip Hop Awards nomination. I had won the best breakthrough artist. That recognition felt great. Everybody can’t say they got a award, a B-E-T award you know what I’m saying? A lot of people can’t say that. And for me, this being my first year in the game and it was just anything. I loved it. My first piece of professional advice was to save my money and to get a account manager because if I was dealing with my own money, (psst) but yeah, that was the smartest piece of advice was to save my money and make my money, make money for me while I’m asleep. My first red carpet was the 2022 V-M-As. I was wearing a customized Gucci denim outfit. It was two pair of Gucci jeans and they customized it to where it was a bra top and just the jeans. The first thing that should come to your mind looking forward to my debut album is we going to one. Thanks so much for hanging out with me and “Elle” today. For more videos like this, make sure you go subscribe to “Elle.” (upbeat music)
